Facts about the Persian Language

‘Farsi’ is the native name for the Persian languages spoken in Iran (Persia), Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and some other parts of the Caucasus and Central Asia (Ossetians speak Ossetic, which is a branch of Persian).

Recently, as a misunderstanding in some Western countries, the word “Farsi” has been wrongly understood as a supposedly new language and not as the native name for the Persian language. There are over 75 million native speakers. It belongs to the Indo-European language family. It is of the Subject Object Verb type.
