What does Pimsleur German III Teach?

If you’re interested in continuing your German language studies and have already completed the the first two levels of Pimsleur German, then Pimsleur German III is the next step along your path. The third level of Pimsleur German starts off with with more sophisticated and a faster pace of instruction than that found in the Pimsleur German I and II. There is no big surprise here, but putting together what you’ve already learned is exciting as you realize how much vocabulary you now have.

The first two courses concentrated on elements such basic introductions, basic restaurant ordering scenarios, talking about one’s family, asking how much something costs, asking for basic directions, telling basic time as well as a basic introduction and application of past and future tense, visiting a city, etc. The third level naturally builds on these and begins to place the student in a more fast paced German learning environment which gives the student the vocabulary, phrases, and the know how to start interacting successfully and in a much deeper level on a daily basis with German speakers.

The third programs builds on the two previous courses and starts to integrate this material with new vocabulary. So for example, in the first level you may have learned basic vocabulary to say “I want a cup of water” or “I want coffee.” In the second level you may have learned how to construct phrase stating “I will go to the restaurant” introducing the “future tense.” In the third level however, you will learn how to construct dialogs that will allow you to schedule a meeting or get together for coffee at a particular restaurant, show someone on a map how to get there, ask for someone for directions for the post office which made you late, buy cup of coffee after asking how much it costs and then apologize for being late to your friends or colleagues!

That is simply one example, but shows you how have progressed. So if you’re interested in continuing your German language proficiency, then check out Pimsleur German iii.
